Dr. McKhann is a neurosurgeon trained in stereotactic surgery for the treatment of Parkinson's diseases, tremor, and other movement disorders. He is an expert in deep brain stimulation and brain mapping. Since his arrival at Columbia in 1999, he has played an important role in the growth of the Center for Movement Disorder Surgery. In addition, Dr. McKhann is an expert in the surgical treatment of epilepsy.
