Dr. Habeck originally trained as a Particle Physicist in the UK, completing this studies with a PhD in 1998 from the University of Sussex. During the last years of his graduate training he became interested in the Neurosciences, leading him to move to the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego in 1998, spending 2.5 years pursuing large-scale neural networks models of the cat thalamocortial system as Postdoctoral Fellow under the guidance of Gerald Edelman. In 2000, Dr. Habeck moved to Columbia University and joined the Cognitive Neuroscience Division of the Taub Institute.
